I brush my malamutes teeth once a week
He is ten
They are white and amazing
I use bicarb soda
I teaspoon mixed in melted coconut oil.
Couple drops of peppermint oil.
My husky and malamutes try to eat the paste they love it so much.
I rinse some wet wipes and ring out well. Then apply the paste (it will reharden ), which is what you want. I gently clean teeth and gums top to front, back to front.
I also use a mouth wash for them
Pepermint oil in the more expensive coconut oil that stays liquid.
I dip a half washed and rung out wet wipe... Squeeze out most of oil back into your bottle, and wipe all around gums.
I went to let store and read the ingredients in they're oral wipes for dogs that were $39!!!!
It is just peppermint oil in coconut.
Go figure
Hope this helps someone also

I've been doing this for a few years at least, I had a professional come and do it 5 or so years ago but it was super expensive. My older Border Collie seems to not be interested in bones anymore. I use a little dish with water and iodine in it and cut up 8 small bits of paper towel (dipped in the water) to wipe the teeth after scraping.

Dr. Jones would you post a complete video detailing how often this should be done and what is best for brushing ? Thank You👍💯♥️

I have the dental tools, but I also give them raw beef knucklebones from the Butcher weekly, also brush their teeth weekly, and you’ll have beautiful white teeth and a very healthy dog

Amazing thanks so much I bought one off Amazon and did it today and at first she was a bit hesitant but I just put it in her mouth and touched her tooth a few times and then finally went in and scraped and then when she got her wriggles on would pause for a few seconds the back in and have to say both her canine teeth and now spotless - all build up gone. 🙏🏼🐾🦷

This can potentially be very dangerous! If you scrap off enamel you are damaging the tooth and causing a much more expensive vet bill! It might be best if you do a tutorial and people can weigh the risks

Great, thank you! I brush their teeth every night and give bones to gnaw regularly but there's still a little tartar in some places. And of course, for an older dog, vet scaling is impossible as it's done on general anesthesia.

You can buy the scaler on chewy but it’s a little less expensive looking a better bet is enzymatic toothpaste for dogs and cats dental additives to their water I couldn’t get tartar off my late Apples teeth with scaler but maybe it’s easier for a dog than a cat. The toothpaste seems to be working from Chewy on my cat Almond I just have to do it more often.

I include Plaque off and at night I spray their mouths with mint essential oil & purified water mix

I gotta start doing this for our dog. The vet we used to go to says small dogs like him get what they call, “trash mouths” and it is expensive to do the cleaning.

My adopted dog has horrible teeth, it wasn't something I ever considered needing to fix on my dog.
I'm afraid of how thick and strong this tartar is, but I want to save her teeth. They are extremely loose. She's already lost one, the bottom jaw, front tooth.
Should I start scraping her teeth? It would be a bit before I could save up enough milk money to get her to a doggie dentist

I've tried many times to download your book but it won't open. I've seen others say the same thing as well. Please help?

We always have our dogs REAL bones any occasion we could our leftovers pork &beef. Vet always stated he has never seen such healthy teeth into old age with our dogs. Let them grind that meat off the bones let them get real minerals. Does them a world of good as nature intended
