Thank you for sharing your mistakes and journey with us. I just made 5 heart shaped ring boxes and struggling with the darn magnets!Now, I am thinking I should do the big sanding after I put the magnets in place. Still trying to figure that out.

I would have put the fabric in after the finish was applied.. really nice looking box!

I might suggest using 4 magnets instead of 2. The extra magnets will help pull it back n2 place if 1 is slightly off.
