Ya i'm pretty sure you can use Gun's n' Roses as an example of Slash's work. A lot of people bought it because the guitar work on it was great and others bought it because the lyrics, vocals and the rest of the band were excellent. I can say that my friends and I bought appetite and use your illusions 1 and 2 mostly for the guitar work even though the band as a whole was one of the best ever. My point is that I'm pretty sure Satriani or Vai haven't sold 28 million albums...
