I think words "vintage" and "quality" are so bound together (and for good reason) that it's difficult for people to imagine Forever21 being vintage. And it's very interesting that in years to come vintage clothing will include things from fast fashion brands that are not good quality and how we're going to navigate that.

That’s what I understood, items 20 years or older! I’m selling on depop at the moment and remembered the leather bag I was about to list was bought in 2000. I called it vintage!

Lol so true. Idk why people probably associate vintage with something older, like 80's or before, but time is moving forward. Hey! The vintage standard by antique dealers and antique clothing store owners is 40-60 years. I’ve talked to owners myself, been collecting myself for years and have thousands of dollars in pieces, and 20 years is still considered preloved. However I don’t blame people who call 90s vintage because it’s a common misconception, it is still not vintage yet, and I know clothing sells better when you call it vintage which leads a lot of people to call it vintage even when they know an item is only 30 years old. I sell vintage clothes online myself and I occasionally do call pieces that are 35+ instead of 40 vintage because most people don’t care. You can actually google it and see that 40 is the standard minimum. Right now 90s is so in and misinformation is so prevalent that I figured I would clear this up, though you really don’t have to listen to me.

I love love finding vintage forever 21, aloy, Deb, wet seal, 5 7 9. It's so rare though. Idk if they just didn't hold up or if people are still holding onto the. Where it's only been 20 30 years maybe?
