Pure, breathless skating. I like this slightly better than C&B's Egyptian Snake dance. This is just pure skating and gliding -- everything that Ice Dance should be. Or at least the first half is breathtaking even though it feels like something you've already seen a few times before. The opening side-by-side twizzles are quite magnificent! Beautiful music!!

I'm underwhelmed by this program and performance. I see where the corrupt judging is going. I'm just hoping someone halts it. S/K should have the silver medal. Most definitely should not have won gold. Chock & Bates won the FD and should have won the gold medal!!

Ok, after watching Chock/Bates, I consider this program was inflated as the RD. The straight line lift gave me the impression that misses a movement, I'm wrong maybe but the dismount looked weak and a little insecure. Also the step sequences are receiving more GOE than a lvl 3 should get. Surprisingly, judges marked an extended lift when I thought they went to award more points. The program is still boring. I know that modern pieces or strong music don't suit Katsalapov, making him uncomfortable (look at Ghost or Ave Maria with Elena Illinykh) but this FD finally showed that can be easily outskated by more dynamic and intricate programs as happened today. The music has no rhythm variations, is ecstatic, never gets an emotive connection and it is "cute" but misses energy, surprises and if this kind of programs are the Nikita's idea to compete in a tentative olys, well, another teams (mainly Guignard/Fabbri, Stepanova/Bukin & Chock/Bates) gonna take the technical risks seriously and also, Papadakis/Cizeron are really evolving from their style and upgrading difficulties. The overscoring in the RD was decisive today for SinKats but the ice never lie.

It is a sweet program and I'm sure they have good skating skills but ... compared to C/B (and probably a lot of other FD's ), this is a snooze fest. I can't even say why. It feels very staged.

Con todo el respeto al trabajo de estos deportistas pero Qué les paso??? Un programa libre "casi" idéntico al del año anterior y dos veces menos bueno. Les dio flojera al equipo de coreógrafos inventarse uno nuevo? Tecnicamente (nervios?) flojos, esos twizzles mas desarreglados me confirman el "problema no resuelto" que tiene él. La nota no justifica el resultado. Nivel 4??? what?patinan rápido pero eso es todo.

They should NOT have the gold medal!! Chock & Bates were robbed!! If not for the grossly overscored RD, S/K would have the silver which is what they deserved!

Although skated fairly clean, Chock and Bates free program was awful, imo. I didn’t like it at all.
