SpaceX Starhopper Launches - 150 Meter Flight Test is Successful

This afternoon and after a bunch of delays and a failed attempt at the launch yesterday due to an issue with the igniters SpaceX Starhopper Launches and took to the skies with its second and final untethered flight for this test vessel. The target flight for this was 150 meters in altitude which was revised down from 200 meters before today's flight. The reason for this seems to be due to regulatory approvals being more difficult above the 150 meter mark but that is possibly a little bit of speculation at this point. The starhopper itself is roughly 20 meters in height so we were expecting the view of the Starhopper hovering up around seven to eight times its own height before slowly coming back to gently touch down. From these shots it does certainly look like the target altitude there was reached successfully. The 150 Meter Flight Test is Successful! Here is my take on this amazing achievement. Congratulations SpaceX!

this was impressive to watch
I had the spaceX and everyday astronaut streams going at the same time and the sound was incredible

SpaceX development is 100x faster than NASA and sub contractors. I like the retro 1950s Sci-Fi look of the rocket.

Note that they tested a lot. Controlled hover, translation and rotation. I would have been impressed by just going up and down successfully. The software really got a work out!

I was able to watch the live from t-60, and saw it all... Speechless! I can't imagine how it would be with first orbital launches of starship. Really love this community!

you did see something fly off. it was one of the RCS tanks fitted on top. once starhopper touched down, it couldnt control its excitement and departed the rocket in celebration like a firework.

If you turn on the AUTOMATICALLY GENERATED subtitles at 1:19 it says "Applause" when Starhopper touches down :D

I was very lucky to catch this live yesterday. I flipped onto the channel at t-8:00, very drowsy and ready for sleep and I almost sacked it off at the 2:00 hold, but I persevered and it was so worth it.

Suddenly brought back here after BN3’s static fire. Soon to orbit. Crazy pace.

Man, look at that full-flow staged combustion working so smoothly. First flying rocket of its kind and it seems perfect. Very smooth vector control too. Imagine the launch of super heavy booster with 27 (?) of these puppies!
