Mystery Blue Laundry Stain - Laundry Mythbusting

Sometimes blue stains can appear after you do a load of laundry, there are a few causes but odds are it's either your fabric softener or detergent not being fully rinsed out.

Both of these products are blue for a reason, they include blue dye which makes your clothing look brighter and whiter. However if these are not rinsed out properly they can leave stains.

To remove these stains, rub a bit more detergent into the stain, wait 15 minutes and then rewash. Avoid using fabric softener if possible.

Had this happen with Downey fabric softener years ago and, could also see oily spots on the same nylon jacket.
Never used Downey after that.

I use everything he said not to use and the way I get the stains out is that I just spray (sometimes I drench it depending on how bad the stain is) some hydrogen peroxide on the blue stains and rub it in. Then I will put my whites in a cold water wash with nothing added in it. This works for me all the time, so I hope it works for you too.

Does Woolite and Colorguard have blueing hue dyes in it? They are blue in color so I think they do but they also claim not to change clothes color...

help, I used foca detergent to wash my waffle weave blanket and its stained blue now even after washing twice and with vinegar

I don't use softener and I use clear detergent wtf lol
