Bought an R6 new in 2012 and now pushing the 90, 000 km mark. Aside from the maintenance you'd expect, I've had zero trouble with it.

No, I don't want to own an R1 one. I need an R1 like I need a hole in my head. Haven't you looked at the insurance rates on those monsters?

On my 3rd R1. Every sport bike lover should own one. So refined, so good. But you do need to have a place where you can ride on the side of the tire and get a way with 100+ MPH, or it won't be much fun to own. Had a few MT10s too. Not going to lie, I find the current XSR900 funner to ride than the Euro 5 neutered MT10. The previous gen MT was wicked though.

the R1 definitely has the least intimidating name of the Japanese Big 4, I mean it's competing with Bikes called Ninja, Hayabusa and Fireblade

I got the chance to see Ben Spies race in WSBK in Utah in 2009. I was sold on the look of the 09 R1 and dreamt about owning an R1. I currently have an 09 R1 that I turned into a track/race bike. My best bike ever.

10:34 Yeah, I rode that bike to work this morning. It's perfect, the engine howls at you through the air box. Get this bike.
