He made some valid points but living in England Vs living in Nigeria are 2 different things. In England once you shake of a sense of entitlement and pride and you adapt the sky is the limit. I left in 92 i quickly re educated my mind and was Employed by Siemens an opportunity only for the connected in Nigeria. My employers used to say they like Nigerian graduates because they adapt and are very resilient. They retrained me into IT yet i was a graduate of English from Uni of Ife! My daughter is in her 20s highly sort after and is already on 55k. Her Nigerian friends are majorly struggling in the gig economy. I tried to relocate in 2012 built a house in a choice area, started a business but the stress of Nigeria, lazy entitled staff, even the noise from the din of the generators was too much! Leaving in England is fantastic

The UK provides you a peaceful and less stressful environment to exist as a human being. This is very important. Basic amenities are provided by the system.
To do well in this environment, all you need to do is to adapt. You must be flexible. Be ready for retraining.
If you have children, make sure they are well educated ( university, with 2.1). They will be employed by good companies.
The things that are making people run away from Nigeria are a hostile and intimidating environment (political, economic, security, etc) and the unpredictability of the future.

You can’t compare the two. It is like the difference between night and day.

I have lived in America for 16 years, each time I go to Nigeria to do something that will be for the good of the people, I have to pay a bribe.

Nice talk show, I have had this discussion with people lots of time. The fact is that an hungry man can not think even if he has ideas. In western nations they have access to basic lives as such they can think, carryout innovative ideas and so on. Now sir, why didn't you stay back in Nigeria when you finish your first degree? Now you are back because food, clothes, shelter is not a problem to you any more . ...

If Nigeria wants to encourage Nigerians abroad to come back or invest, create the right atmosphere.

These are kind of people we should have at the hem of affairs in Nigeria. This man should be the minister of education.

Dr Akanimo spoke well. However, there is still a situation where the environment is not enabling enough. Yes, there will be some wins but even at that the head winds are enormous.
The fact is that Nigeria is filled with great talents that need very little help from government to take off.
I agree we need to re-gig the educational system. That is one area that the government can sure get a big return on investment.
Fix power, education and health care. You will see what Nigerians are capable of.

Most Nigerians don't engage in hobbies aside from what they studied. A cleaner in the United Kingdom has hope has right like any other workers, can we say the same thing in Nigeria .

Lies upon lies, how many Nigerians can boast of 50, 000 naira in their accounts right now? How many have jobs? Agbero is everywhere disturbing the peace. Mtchew

He is absolutely right. Nigeria is good market place for innovators who can critically think. If you want to earn and live, UK is way better. Is difficult to be rich, to become a millionaire in UK because of the system of economy they operate. UK economy is close to social economy. How to understand this, how many world billionaire are British. No British is in 1 to 5

Poverty in England is different level ooo! The poverty hits areas you never knew co existed in your life, spiritual, physical, mental, Racial, children acting up questioning their gender with government support. Yes o facilities are working, light, water, good roads, but it is not FREE!!!! You pay for your energy use. If you work your ass off for 2000 pounds a month, tax will collect about 400, child minding, nursery will collect, rent mortgage will collect, gas electricity bill. About 30 pound a week for gas alone not electricity. That gas is not for heating throughout the day o! Just for a couple of hours, mould all over the walls, children developing asthma symptoms. It's not easy!!!!, is it the gang related crime, drug problems. Its not easy any where.
