I love an American accent, where I live in Tottenham I hear more and more daily. We’ve also got a lot of South Americans here too and love hearing Spanish as well.

Personally I feel a sense of apprehension about which TYPE of American they will be: one of the quiet speaking “please don’t hate us, we didn’t vote for Trump” or the “USA is the best country in the world, land of the free defender of democracy” while yelling at service staff type.

The lady that says we all speak fast likely has very limited exposure to Americans from the South. We're known for our 'Southern drawl.' It's the folks up North, like NY, that are known as fast talking. Kinda funny, though, because I get asked on a regular basis if I'm British.

I was in Japan this March, and all the foreigners who were loud loud on the streets either spoke Mandarin, or they spoke English with an American accent 😂

It's kind of funny hearing English people say "loud" immediately because when I'm traveling in Europe it's often English accents that I'm hearing the loudest 😅

As an American who went to Malta for their honeymoon, a country swarming with British tourists, I gotta say y’all can be equally as loud/obnoxious when you’re on vacation

I worked at an international hotel in England, front of house. The Americans we had were the most polite, calm and quiet people we ever had. I've never considered them loud.

British abroad is also very loud. Speaking as a very loud Brit at home, I'm surrounded by very loud Brits in Europe, or any holiday. I love it as I'm naturally loud, and it gives me a rest, but for locals we are a nightmare too some xXx
