BMW M440i. A Good Daily Driver?
Показать описание
BMW’s M440i xDrive Coupe Is An Affordable M4 That’s Nearly Just as Fast!
This engine in the BMW M440i coupe really is the sweet spot between the base car and the crazy fast M4.
It makes for a great daily driver.
The 48-volt mild-hybrid system uses electric power to fill in the gaps where the internal-combustion engine isn’t at its best, making for a punchy ride.
The turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine lets out a sonorous and sporty noise thanks to BMW’s M-Sport Exhaust system along with some clever trickery to pipe more noise into the cabin.
The xDrive all-wheel-drive system makes for immediate and confidence-inspiring acceleration the moment you ask for it.
Specs:
Engine: Turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder
Horsepower: 382
Torque: 369
Transmission: 8-speed automatic
Drivetrain: All-wheel-drive
Fuel efficiency: 26 MPG (Combined MPG)
The specs are great, but the M440i feels like nothing else I’ve ever driven. This is partly because of the mild-hybrid system, which offers an additional 11 horsepower, filling the torque gaps in the internal combustion—launching from a standstill, in between gear changes, and low down in the rev range where the turbo isn’t on song. The result is a car that pulls incredibly hard at really any speed.
