I mean there’s still more resistances after 12.10 which do affect damage dealt and lifesteal.

This is a hot take but there should be champs that utilize vamp/life steal in combat as a tool (like Aatrox, Gwen, Zac) and supports should be able to use healing over damage to be just as effective, but make it much more limited for champs that don't have it already built into their kit. Sustainable healing should be a feature not a necessity in my opinion. Anti-heal should be more effective when built against items and force healing based champs to think harder, not outright counter *some* of them like it does right now.

Edit: (Clarification) I don't think anti-heal shouldn't affect healing champs but they should reduce the amount of life steal and omi-vamp in items (not runes) across the board so that anti-heal feels stronger without it needing it to be such a high percentage cut.

I think it's fine. At this point in the game, healing is too accessible to everyone: supports, tanks and almost every AD champion. This means that Grievous Wounds became a must-have in every team. Now that both healing and Grievous Wounds are less effective, buying Grievous Wounds is not mandatory anymore, which means more build variety.

Grievous wounds already felt garbage when the guy you're hitting had death dance + life steal, now it's just gonna be worse especially with the tankiness buff for all champions.

How it used to feel building Griveous Wound against a fed hypercarry: 🤡
How it gonna feel now: 🎪

This is definitely more noticeable now. Things just feel unkillable at times. Darius, Olaf, Renekton, they just keep getting health back in enormous chunks and grievous nerf makes it feel like you can't itemize against it at all.

Nerfing the healing out of combat is significant, it changes how much sustain you have in lane, making trades in lane more risk, for anyone who would start small trades and disengage, since you wont get that health back as easily as before

It's still great, "too much healing" was never a problem imo, the bigger problem was having to buy GW every single game, since all the healing was tuned up to assume it being matched against GW.

The fact that GW was so strong and easy to get meant that a lot of champions got "hit in the crossfire" like pre-rework mundo sucking for so long because his kit revolved around self-healing and everyone had GW

My complain is that you can beat a warwick (one of the best healer champs) without an antihealing item, yet you loose vs a yasuo/yone (wich are not even healer champs), with a full team armed with antihealing items.

And then there's atroox, but that guy is just another level.

I think anti heal being less necessary is a good thing. I’ve never liked how polarizing it would feel to play aatrox, renekton, or some other heal champ and be crazy raid boss one fight and the next fight just get exploded because someone decided to buy an anti heal item.

I honestly got surprised when i saw they nerfet Grievous Wound, because to me the most intuitive thing to do was keep it as it was and nerf the rest.

Add resistance and it's a clear buff for healing, longer fighters -> more healing

I miss the days when only soraka could actually heal alot

nerfing out of combat healing is actually good tho I've seen many times where I poke down a irelia or yasuo to a killable state just for them to heal back up from minions

Too simple of a take, the game mode in the background fits with it. Lifesteal is a great tool to sustain out of champion combat, so sustain of that kind, especially in lane, got nerfed. Also the expected increase in healing assumes one is always wounded.

Also, the main problem of the game was burst, not healing. 60% healing debuff on a drain tank or any healing-based champion meant they would get oneshot because one of the main parts of their kit got destroyed. Healing was too much only on low Elo where players forgot to buy wounds or just use the overpowered ignite at opportune times and targets.

Imagine there being a permanent debuff that says "autoattacks deal 30% less damage". Not sure ADC mains would like that. ADCs then would have to deal a fuckton of damage to be useful through that item. All in all, the change was meant to allow for healing to not be overpowered without wounds.

After playing against an olaf, can confirm, it feels like he heals more

I actually strongly disagree with his idea that the nerf doesn't matter for out of combat lifesteal. It matters a lot. In lane phase lots of champions can heal while the enemy can't apply grevious. This was a very big issue. I do want them to balance it so grevious hits the same as before but have out of combat healing nerfed. I don't want healing in combat higher and maybe slightly lower is also fine. But out of combat healing (or healing while the enemy can't proc grevious is a big issue in league)

To be honest, I’d rather they just get rid of grievous and just blanket nerf all healing again.

not to mention that champions who heal % of missing health are not really that nerfed, but actually buffed due to the champion tankiness buff,
