Finally, my aerial tour of Liverpool, featuring 111 landmarks and significant places seen from the tower of Liverpool Cathedral is ready. If you'd like to see high-level views of Liverpool and its region or would like to find the best place where you can view or photograph Liverpool city centre, the RIver Mersey, the Wirral and the wider Merseyside area, then I can recommend the Anglican Cathedral tower. It has the best Liverpool viewing platform by far, and you don't have to photograph or video through glass, though it can be very windy and cold! Here are some highlights:

00:00 - Introduction from AidanEyewitness
01:00 01 - The Liver Building
02:31 - 11 - Perch Rock Lighthouse
03:27 - 18 - St John's Beacon
05:27 - 33 - Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral
07:18 - 46 - 3 Gambier Terrace
08:18 - 52 - View of Deansgate Towers Manchester
09:55 - 60 - St James Gardens spring
11:00 - 69 - Control tower of Liverpool John Lennon Airport
12:10 - 79 - X1 The Tower and X1 The Studios
13:45 - 90 --The Albert Dock
14:51 - 101 - Queensway Tunnel ventilation station
16:18 - 111 - The Dome of Home
16:24 - Answers to the quiz questions

Vielen Dank, many thanks to Liverpool Cathedral for providing us with such a fantastic high-level viewing opportunity, the best in the city and region. Also danke, thanks to the assistant on duty at the top of the tower when I visited. She gave me some very useful information and was very helpful.

The music used in the video was chosen by me from the amazing YouTube Audio Library:
The signature music at the beginning and the end is a brilliant instrumental piece by Patrick Patrikios entitled 'Beyond'.
The other pieces of music area all by Dan Henig. In order of appearance they are:
Nebular Focus - Sunrise in Paris - Russian River - Empire Seasons

ERROR NOTICE "Paul and George only, went to “ The Innie” better known as The Liverpool Institute and now LIPA, John went to Quarry Bank High School and subsequently the Art School when older, which was right next door to The Institute." Many thanks to Nehpets Yollom for pointing out my error. Please take notice! 😀

Excellent video again, Aiden. Some great views from the tower of the Cathedral. But I did not see you highlight the Philharmonic Pub on Hope Street. Sacrilege! Is the glass roof of Lime Street Station visible from there? How about Otterspool Promenade? Also, when you mentioned the Liverpool Institute, it was Paul McCartney and George Harrison who went there. John Lennon went to my Alma Mater, Quarry Bank HIgh School. Cheers, Ian

We are so excited to go visit Liverpool this August! Thanks for all the great ideas... this will be a great reference for us as we plan our trip! Ian loves cities because of their buildings and architecture, so your videos are so helpful. Cheers! XX Dara

Another very informative video; I did not know we had so much interesting and varied architecture in our city. I would like to praise the clarity and detail of some of your images. Specifically, at about the 5:15 mark, you show the Oratory outside the Anglican Cathedral, but in front of the building (and also on the following ground view) can clearly be seen the Tracey Emin "sculpture" The Roman Standard, though its local name of Bird On A Stick is more descriptive

Sorry but Paul and George only, went to “ The innie” better known as The Liverpool Institute and now LIPA, John went to Quarry Bank high school and subsequently the Art school when older, which was right next door to The Institute. Great video otherwise.

Great job covering such a large number of landmarks in such a short period. I wasn't aware of the beautiful Georgian architecture in Liverpool until I watched a period drama a while back and was curious as to where the "London" scenes were really filmed. Such a shame to see beautiful building in a derelict state. Hopefully they will find good uses for them.

Like to see industrial building being repurposed for residential use. I've always thought that people should be housed in the centre of things, where they have easy access to cultural attractions, shopping, and work. It makes a city vibrant.

The Three Graces was the landmark sought by ships making it back to Liverpool in WWII, not the 'Dome of Home', get it right. Anyone interested in architecture should know that the city contains more listed buildings than any city outside London. The Anglican Cathedral itself is one of the world's biggest, holds world records for its massive bells, and its organ. It is the greatest neo-gothic building in the world designed by the man who gave us the iconic phone box and Battersea Power Station as well.

2:47 I have to point out Costco in the centre of the frame. The best place to go for your American peanut butter fix.

I'm embarrassed to admit I only knew the answer to question 9. I got lucky with a second question but that was it!
