Skyward sword HD is probably just GREAT VIBES for you, but Groose will forever be PURE BLISS!

I always disregarded this game for multiple reasons but hearing how much you like it gets me hyped!

Maybe it’s because I went into it with low expectations (because all I ever heard was how terrible this game is) but I honestly don’t know what people are smoking. This game is GREAT. It’s got gorgeous visuals, a fun story, and fantastic dungeon design. Even people’s complaints about the Zelda amiibo functionality being egregious felt unfounded. There’s one of those bird statues in what feels like every other room, I can’t imagine even wanting to bother with scanning that amiibo. Don’t listen to anyone who tells you this game sucks. Play it for yourself.

Groose has always been the meme of Skyward Sword, but I've always felt his conversion was too sudden and a missed opportunity for a greater sub-narrative. I would've preferred that Groose stayed arrogant after the first Imprisoned battle and tried traveling the Surface to prove that he is the rightful hero only for the denizens of each region to tell him that he has none of the heroic qualities that Link has, and ultimately have him be deceived by Ghirahim to fight Link before realizing his follies and only then have him help Link, but that's not a problem of a remake. Basically, Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild have many equal and opposite strengths and weaknesses to each other, and I hope BotW2 or the next-gen Zelda can figure out how to balance both game's positives.

I'm starting to notice a trend with games that are considered horrible or disappointing by fans. After a couple years have passed or when fans finally get the type of games they wanted, they will start to look back at the "bad games" and start giving it appreciation (Especially if that "bad game" gets much needed fixes in a rerelease). Doesnt happen with every "bad game" but its starting to become noticable.

'Cons: The Imprisoned'
Never have I agreed with a review so much in my life

6:30 revisiting areas wasn’t due to the limitation of the Wii. There were other games with wide open areas to explore without having to backtrack over and over…Twilight Princess hello! It was because Nintendo at the time had an obsession for streamlining game design and Skyward Sword got the worst of that design philosophy.

In a world of SS haters, this review is refreshing! I've always loved this game and consider it one of the best Zeldas out there. I like it more than BotW, Wind Waker, Majoras Mask, and Twilight Princess. Its amazing how much a story and character development can elevate a game...

I love that the right stick can let you strike an enemy multiple times in the span of like a second, that my favorite part of the new controls…why am I the only person in the world who loves feeling like an indestructible badass in video games? Why does NOBODY ELSE ever like feeling like that???

Still criminal that Groose wasn't in HW even after all the dlc

Highly underrated game. So glad it is getting another chance.

It was always a fantastic game but it previously had tons of small issues that added up. Sure the controls are not accurate but they get the job done

I agreed with a lot of things said in this review, but I can’t disagree more than Fi and Link’s relationship is anything special at all. Their entire relationship is incredibly sterile, and they share nearly no special moments together and her character remains nearly the exact same up until the very end. The story attempting to give her a heartfelt goodbye felt extremely forced and was n deserved at all given its the one moment in the entire story she’s given any sort of character development, and it’s at the very end.

I might trigger some but this is one of the best games I have ever played in my life, at least the original.

While it isn't perfect, I really enjoyed Skyward Sword back in 2011, and I'm so glad it's not only available to more people, but playable in a way that's accessable to people who may have limited physical mobility!
Also, a wonderful thing to me is that we're at a point where 2D Zelda, traditional 3D Zelda and modern Zelda can all exist together on one platform :D

Nice review Steve! Not a perfect Zelda game but far from the worst!

Probably the worst part of this game was how it got me used to 60 FPS. Going back to 30 FPS in Breath of the Wild is painful 😂

I got this game on Wii at launch, but got bogged down and never finished the Sandship/Pirate Stronghold dungeon. I don’t know if I really want to replay the first half all over. My save data was transferred to my WiiU, but Nintendo has stubbornly refused to allow save data transfers from WiiU to Switch for any of their ports. (This, BotW, Mario Kart 8, Pikmin 3 and Super Mario 3D World all would have been more enjoyable for me.)

Wow, How did you finish the game in 21 hours? I'm near the end with 37 hours

Feels like a pandering review. Everyone has their opinions but you literally had nothing negative to say about it. This game has/had issues and I can't imagine they've all been fixed.
