Great video. I liked the explanations of who its made for. I understand everyone is going to complain about build area and cost. But sometimes its nice to have something small that fits on bench and allows you to learn and practice cam techniques before going to the larger machine in the workshop. Also some people want something to work out of box and not spend all their time they have fiddling with it and wondering if the issue is the machine or user.

Even though i have a shapeoko xxl, i find most the stuff I do small that would fit on this or the bantam. Would also allow me not to freeze in the garage during the winter.

I'd love to see it.

What do you mean it's the least powerful for the price range? Is it possible to get a desktop CNC that can cut steel at this 'price range' ($4, 000)? I don't know what you mean by that.

Great unit ... but not really priced for the average "Maker" ...

Interesting. I think found this in the EU under the name Baileigh DEM-0906… looks identical?

Its a nice setup for maybe PCB milling and schools for education but I think the X carve and shapeoko are just better value, I bought a chinese 6040 CNC in 2009 knowing little about CNC and it was a steep learning curve but I quickly found the bed size a limiting factor spending a load of time working out how to use larger stock that the working area making fixturing difficult, I could see so many frustrations with such a small usable work area in this machine I think they have just priced it out of the hobbyists market but I guess that was not the market it was only intended for just my opinion tho 😁

Weird product. My high school has a much much larger CNC mill. The whole idea behind a CNC is to have the ability to cut large pieces of material. If you wanna go small like this, get a 3D printer or melt some metal and cast the part in a crucible. I collect coke and beer can tabs just to melt them and cast my own small molds.
