Studio Series 86 - Collection So Far

A chat about my Studio Series 86 collection. What I've learned about this Hasbro sub-line and what my hopes are for future releases.

I highly recommend kingdom cyclonus and kingdom/legacy blaster, there are strong rumours that both were initially meant for studio series but moved to other lines last minute. They're both fantastic voyagers and I don't see them improving upon them for future releases and u can find them for good prices.

Really not sure why Hasbro released figures meant for SS under Kingdom or Legacy. They would look much better in the SS packaging.

Combiner Wars Devastator is really good in combined mode, but his individual robots lack articulation. Kingdom Ultra Magnus looks great in Robot mode, but alt mode is bad. Seige Springer is really good, imo. Kingdom Cyclonus and Legacy Blaster are amazing. Kingdom Rodimus Prime is expensive but excellent. I would also try to get Seige Jetfire and Earthrise Skylinx. Great start on the collection and great video.

The problem i have with this line ìs the absolute lack of decepticons in this line. I think it is because most of them were in the wfc trilogy and legacy, and i kind of understand that

Looking at factors like color palette and articulation show this 86 sub-line is really taking a shape of it’s own. Even quality War for Cybertron figures like Galvatron could be tweaked to better fit in with this line. You might not regret sticking with just the SS86 banner.

Honestly, the mainline is looking better than a lot of the Masterpiece lineup, IMO, of course.

If you want a Devastator that should scale well with this line I say look into the Unite Warriors mold of the Combiner Wars Devastator. While the quality isn't on par with most modern figures it is a big improvement over its CW counterpart with more screen accurate paint job on both combined and individual forms. Plus each bot actually comes with their on screen guns and updated articulation that's not on the CW version. So definitely the Unite Warriors.

I only focus collecting now on SS86, WFC and Legacy scales as it is close in scale to each other.

Figures from other lines I recommend to fill out the 86 lineup: Kingdom/Legacy Galvatron (go for the Legacy version), Kingdom Cyclonus, Kingdom/Legacy Blaster, and Siege Springer

Kingdom blaster, cyclonus, galvatron, are amazing and must haves for ur collection. Siege springer is also needed in the collection, and I would say kingdom ultra magnus

SS86 is all I am collecting. Awesome figures.

I'm doing the same thing but use legacy and use siege and war for Cybertron to fill in characters

I think Combiner Wars Devestator is close in scale to the SS86 figures.
