Tall Timber Building Codes and Standards

This video looks at the recent architectural trends to design and construct increasingly taller buildings with structural components comprised of engineered wood. Major emphasis will be on cross laminated timber. Previous research has shown that timber elements contribute to the fuel load and have the potential to overwhelm fire protection systems, which may result in far more severe conditions for fire fighters, occupants, property and neighboring property.
