The crane fell in downtown St. Petersburg, not Tampa. It takes just a few moments of searching on the internet to learn this.

Anyone could have predicted that crane falling. So everyone’s insurance rates go up for the crane!

The media showed cranes before the landfall and warned that they could be thrown around. The damage from this crane was avoidable.

Why would a company leave a crane up during a hurricane? Their insurance should not cover replacing the crane.

What idiots would leave a crane up when they know a huge hurricane is on it's way. Sue them

I find it more irresponsible to report this as Downtown Tampa when it was St Petersburg than to let a heavy crane be unsecured in a hurricane

Shouldn't it be a requirement to remove or lower cranes, prior to a large hurricane?

I know you guys think it’s that simple with the crane but it’s not. The crane was fully secured and left adjacent to the worksite.
There’s no crane in the world that’s rated for 120 mph winds.
Believe it or not, their policy will pay out 100% because they followed procedure. The policy is even paying for the engineer being flown in. It’s more expensive and more difficult to move that crane than it is to secure it properly and hope for the best. That’s just the reality of the situation.

Who leaves a crane up in a hurricane? Farmers insurance is going to deny that claim.

And the road that was washed away is located where? Goodness, not exactly stellar reporting.

That Crain never should’ve been left on that building. Whoever did that needs to be sued they need to pay for building damages the crane damages they do not need to be be able to use insurance. The company itself should be able to pay for half to pay for that this is wrong. It’s fraud in our face. They had plenty of time to get that crane off the building. Stop the fraud.!!!
