We are very lucky to have this man with us still. Do you realize you are listening to a international treasure? I wish you many more years of health and life among us Mr. Laws. You are such an enormous blessing and inspiration to me and to this world. A living legend and one of the last greats left! Don't take it for granted folks.

Hubert is 81. More energy in playing than most 20 somethings. Utterly fantastic musician.

The performance takes place at Hubert's home. The grand piano is one Hubert bought for his mother. Joe Sample chose it. I interviewed Hubert for the National Flute Association fall 2001, quarterly publication, at that venue.

The one and only Hubert Laws! I first saw him play in October 1971, at the CTI Jazz Festival, in Chicago, at the civic opera house. Hubert Laws is absoluttely incredible! In my opinion, Hubert Laws is the Best! Thank you for posting. Thank you Hubert Laws for touching so many of us, with your amazing music!

The ever sublime Hubert Laws. A historical grandmaster of the flute. Listen to his work with Quincy Jones in the 60s and 70s. Just masterful.

Love how he grabs the other flute just for the rubato with a low B and then puts it back :)

With Hubert Laws, you just have to listen and learn. Achieving super-steady embouchure is the primary mission of any self-respecting flutist. He did it like no one else. Law & Order.

Absolutely wonderful!!! What a beautiful tribute to Chick from his favorite flute player in the world, Maestro Hubert Laws, who sounds amazing as always!! With solid support from Rob and my friend John, and excellent sound and balance from the Jazz Bakery folks and Zoom. I am SO looking forward to the duo record mentioned in the intro. Bravo to all!!!
