I 1st heard this man’s voice in 2012 -at age 50 I’ve been an avid listener and singer all my life - I knew after hearing this man sing Una fortiva lagrama I was listening to the greatest ever - perfect tone so true sings with tears in his voice, every other tenor past or present have tried to sing like Caruso 95 % realise very quickly they can’t and never will - they find their own style the other elite 5% were super rare - jussi bjorling - gigli - Corelli with huge voice huge list the last being Pavarotti who was the last of the greatest old school bell canto style purest of singers ‘ It must have been amazing to have seen Caruso live

Fantastic -- My first listening was on an old HMV 12" record  --long gone -- must have been 16 yrs of age . I played it many times . No one else could sing it like Caruso .
My choice has never changed also . This recording is great yet short --  Thank you xx.  Beautiful xx

Amazing singing. He had one of the most solid, reliable voices ever heard, from the lowest to the highest notes, and produced sounds with an accuracy that is spellbinding, including excellent trills that not even some great sopranos can equal. And the phrasing is always so intense but tasteful. It is interesting he sings "aaaambra mai fu" instead of the closed vowel "ooombra". Caruso was really a legend. After him there was no better tenor, and perhaps before him as well.

I am not one for claiming all that was in the past was better than it is now but if that's not the greatest singing ever recorded then I have no ears. I have listened to them all singing this and nothing compares to the GREAT Caruso!!!

Very nice cleaning  This was recorded in the Victor Trinity Church on September 14 1920. There had been a lot of takes made of it for much of the year and finally on that last series of recordings it was done. Thank you for sharing this.

Beautiful clean-up job! With some of the old, scratchy recordings, it's hard to tell if Caruso had a beautiful voice. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for this presentation. It isn't just that the hiss and scratch of the original recording is removed, but somehow you have brought the resonance of Caruso's voice forward from the boxy sounds of those dry Victor recordings. That would be more than enough ! In addition, however, the orchestra is much more equalised with the sound of the voice and is a real accompaniment, rather than some dimly-heard collection of instruments in the background.
