Barber's Paradox

As a result of Russell's dilemma, the so-called "Third Mathematical Crisis" occurred; nevertheless, since then, mathematicians have conducted extensive study to resolve the paradox, yielding numerous breakthroughs and conceptual shifts in the field. Paradoxes, it seems, can both cloud one's vision of the future and inspire one to take action in the face of uncertainty.

Alice: Listen up, agents. The plan is you go into that building and photograph everybody in it. Any questions?
One of the agents: Since we'll be in that building too, do we photograph ourselves?
Alice: If you want, but don't worry. Agent Bob here goes in and photographs all and only those agents who don't photograph themselves.
Bob: But do I photograph myself? If I do, then I don't. But if I don't, then I do.

Can you help Bob out?

It's about the barber's own rules. Otherwise, there's no fuss....

There is indeed an answer, and it's quite simple.

There is no proof that anyone shaves himself until after he has shaved himself, at which point it is too late to not shave himself.

So the barber shaves everyone but himself, and because there is no proof that he shaves himself until he has shaved himself, he also shaves himself.

So there is no paradox, but rather, the supposed paradox is produced by deficient category definitions which fail to distinguish between action and state.
