St Louis Blues - Solo Piano

Slow and fast boogie and stride piano version of this classic tune.

Recorded at the Triple Door in Seattle in 2015. This is a version of St. Louis Blues that I worked up based on Bob Seeley's amazing version, which in turn was based loosely on Earl Fatha Hines' version. I also perform this song as part of the Boogie Stomp! show with Bob Baldori.

I’m 16 years old and your videos absolutely inspired me to play blues and boogie woogie piano, I only wish that one day I will play as good as you. Very well played.

I've never seen anyone make love to a piano the way this man did. He played with skill and grace and all the love for the piano you need.

I'm 43, and a fairly proficient guitar player. This is one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard. Man you are amazing.

Thanks for sharing this with us, I think you just took a seat at the table with the greatest of the greatest. Feel bad for those 29 dislikers who couldn’t get their speakers working.

I love blues, jazz, swing, big band, early 1900s and world war 2 era music especially the piano and vocal performances of that time & style! Cheers to all with great taste who feel the same!

What a performance! I'm just beginning in Boogie Woogie piano and this kind of stuff keeps me going.

A lot of practice went into this much fun and joy.
"How long would it take me to learn this song?"
30 years.
I gotta laugh when my piano teacher looks at me like "How could you know be able to this?" without really asking out loud.
He doesn't realize how I have nothing to go on, most of the time. It's all new.
Great share, thanks.

Bravo ! Boogie Woogie played musically. There's so much of just thumping being posted as boogie woogie these days, it's so nice to hear it being played as you do. Well done. Cheers.
