We're back in Run 8 Train Simulator and we have a thrilling descent as we navigate the chute on the BNSF's Needles sub. The Chute is a short, steep grade on the number 2 main of BNSF's Needles sub, located just west of Siberia. The flat appearing terrain and sudden steep drop can be a real challenge if you don't have your train under control.

Most of the time you're gonna set your air on the top of Ash Hill, drag the train over, and ride that set all the way down. Think of it as putting a cap on your momentum. Rather than transitioning into just dynamics and then using air when you know you have to use it, it's easier to just already have the brakes all warmed up and sticky by then. The air will hold you back but setting it late puts you behind the train and forces you to use more. That's why it was hard to slow down once you were all downhill.

I remember my school started the day after Labor Day, and last day before Summer break was June 2nd. Those were the days!

I’m not saying never but 5HPT is overkill! I would imagine in real life they would want you running bare minimum HPT and no more than 18 power axels for dynamic unless a solid bulk commodity! I’ve never worked for BNSF but I’m with NS it’s bare minimum
