Open Training Online with Dan Safer

Each month, the company members of theatre KAPOW gather to practice, train, and share methodology. These trainings are open for other theatre artists of all experience levels to join in.

Since the social-distancing necessary during the Coronaviris Pandemic began we have moved our training to an online platform to maintain artistic connection and practice. On June 13, we welcomed Dan Safer of Witness Relocation to lead Open Training. In this workshop, we generated solo action (which could also be considered a dance), keeping in mind the limitations and realities of our current situation (i.e. we are all on zoom) and make something that at the very least acknowledges that fact, if possibly taking advantage of it a little. Using a task based, problem solving approach, we can create without the pressure of “being creative”, and very likely have fun along the way.
