It's pretty cool!

They usually only come out at night.

Scientists believe they are trending towards extinction because of how isolated a species they are.

Even when you think you're alone... you're never really alone.

I think the next step in skincare products would be (like we did for our intestines' flora) to finally acknowledge them, select the best kinds (species/subspecies etc) and keep their populations balanced. That would be cool!

I wonder if when we kiss the mites ever switch sides. I assume they prefer the skin they’ve grown up on. One cool thing I learned in nursing school is that all of our body microbes migrate onto us during breastfeeding and close contact with our mother, and to a much smaller extent from our father. Which means that your face mites are descendants of your great-great-great grandmother’s face mites!
