The 1st thing to do when starting the car is checking if the gear is on Neutral. And the hand break is up.
Both those things prevent the car from jumping. *Very Important*

I didn’t know the reason why we change, except turning on 2. It’s just instinct!! The gears are just in my head

Almost all driving schools teach to clutch first then brake after but that method is perfect within the yard when the car is moving slow (+-5kmp). The best method is to break first, then clutch to avoid increasing the stopping distance. Remember, when the car is in motion, gravity is also involved. When you press the clutch, the engine and the wheels are now disconnected, and the engine being heavy is now under other forces, hence the increase in stopping distance.
