Classic music had an ability to tell a dark story and still made it amazing and enjoyable. He and his girl didn't get out the country before the revolution hit. Basically caught in the crossfire. One of Donald's many perfect songs.

Classic Donald Fagen/Steely Dan type tune: smooth, bubbly, upbeat, hummable music and singing with dark lyrics suggesting that some bad business is about to go down behind the "big casino by the sea", courtesy of the Colonel with the stupid face, the glasses and the gun. Let's put it this way - you do not want to get the Goodbye Look.

I love this entire album. Great song request MM . I believe the song is about an American in Cuba just before Castro took over, hence the island vibe.🎶🏝️

This kind of musicianship is lost to us today. This song is about Americans being expelled from Cuba after their revolution. It has gangster overtones that make it all the better.
