LEGO Star Wars COMPARISON: 75342 Republic Fighter Tank (2022) vs. 75283 Armored Assault Tank (2020)

Today we take a close look at two incredibly similar sets. From the concept, to the content, to the price point, both the Republic Fighter Tank and Armored Assault Tank have tons in common. Is it possible this is a permanent blue print LEGO will be continuing in the future?

I misspoke in the video! The republic fighter tank comes with 6 minifigures (2 of which are droids). Slipped my mind, sorry about that!

Both of them have their flaws but have FANTASTIC minifigures! I have the AAT and it’s not a bad set at all. And the oversized cannon is easily modable. So I’m curious to see if there is any way you can mod the fighter tank when it comes out!

My ideal 40 vehicle sets would be a republic swamp speeder based of Felucia with Aayla Secura Commander Bly 2 327th troopers and 2 super battle droids and a corporate alliance snail tank based off the battle of kashyyyk including 2 battle droids 2 super battle droids and 2 181st division clone troopers

I almost want to call these the Battlepack sized modules of these vehicles, like how candy companies have fun sized. I feel like these sets are made to be played with alongside each other.

What do you mean the fighter tank doesn't come with any droids? There are 2 right on the box

In two years, the Blueprint set that I want is, a Felucia Spider Droid with Bly and the 327th.

Answer to your end question:

$40 (£35 here in uk) Slightly different idea here, I’d like a set with 2 vulture droids, 2 wolffe pack clones, master plo, either an airborne or (would be awesome) a battlefront inspired Wolfpack clone, preferably specialist or heavy class. On the droid side just 2 droids, maybe a new droideka or b2.

Something tells me both have a terrible build in terms of proportions. But the fighter tank have more desirable figures imo.
Most people will buy the att mainly for the 332nd alone, while I think the fighter tank coming with 3 exclusive clones is a better deal.
Which I will happily buy more than 2 at a $32 price point.

Screw comparison, this would be a great 2 in 1 pack! 2 Jedi, 4 troops for seperatist and republic and a vehicle for each side. Both Jedi look amazing too, I’m gonna buy both of these on the tanks release day.

In all honesty, we need more separatist representation, I’d say the corporal alliance tank (snail tank) needs to be brought back or a scorpenek droid and crab droid for variety. What about B2 droids and commando, they haven’t been out since 2015 and 2014 respectively, and if we’re bringing legends into this, then why not B3’s? Or super tactical droids? Honestly the possibilities are well in their favor to make good droid sets, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

3) Battle of Kashyyyk

I would love to see the Tri-Droid "octuptarra" with Obi-Wan and the 212th. Maybe that sweet arm printing with Obi-Wan's Clone wars look. ANDDDD.... what if... just what if lego gave us that phase 2 Cody???

In overall design, I’d say the AAT is better, but the figure selection goes to the Fighter Tank. Both sets are decent, they aren’t incredible, but they’re serviceable and come with good figures and playability. That’s my two-cents on the matter.

My ideal 40 dollar set would be a set with multiple barc speeders and included the leaders of the clone legions, like p2 rex, p2 cody, p2 bly, etc. and one or two of their clones.
