What's in my dive bag for spearfishing?

I get questions all the time about what gear I am using when I go spearfishing. In this video I go through everything I'm currently using and why I choose to use it. I'm not sponsored by any spearfishing brand and all these thoughts are my own formed from my experiences using these products.

It's criminal how no spearfishing brand has never sponsored you. I hope this vid got some of their attention

Love the honesty in this video. My step daughter and I are starting out in the Spearfishing world and quite honestly it’s a bloody minefield.

A trick to making your dive gloves last longer is to coat the palms and fingers with 'tool dip', the latex or acrylic they dip the handles of pliers and the like to give better grip and electrical shock insulation. I used to get 20-30 dives out an untreated pair, and am on the same pair 8 years later after treating them. It also helps to keep my hands warm.

You put out some top notch videos. I always look forward to your stuff when you put it out. It seems that no one else tells the whole story like you do. Wish you could do this full time and give us more material to watch!

A tutorial on how you make the spearguns would be super interesting, what type of foam did you use, how many layers of fibre and did you shape everything including the handle from scratch?
Awesome videos, very helpful, you should try and dive in Portugal, similar to England but with some surprises!
All the best

You beat us to it by a week. Haha, although Az’s Dive bag has more unexplained bottles of lube and a rubber chicken 🤔

Always a good day when a Daniel Mann video comes out. Can't wait for you to come over to New Zealand mate, I think you'll like it. I managed to spear a 10kg Kingfish today without even getting in the water! Might have to look at some of this gear to up my game a bit though. Thanks as always mate. Can't stress enough how much I love these videos.

7 mm, 3 finger mittens was the biggest gamechanger here in the northern Norway during the winter. Still use 7 mm open cells, but smooth scin might be the way to go. Nice video, as allways! 👍🏻

Great to see someone who is showing the real side of not brand new gear and things you have put together to suit your needs. Like the drop weight idea. I'm going to get onto that

Watching you from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷, great video. I started spearfishing 7-8 months ago with barely nothing now watching you, I wish I knew this at the beginning. Still hit that water no problem 😊

Dove Northern California for a few years. I was a beginner for a while there and gripped rocks and everything too much, would destroy gloves. The best gloves you can get for cold water (52 deg ) would be 3mm Kevlar gloves... but the trick is to buy a can of plasti-dip and dip the tips of the fingers... They're awesome, trust me!

THanks for sharing. Only thing we add to your list, here in NZ is a plat/floatboat - Wetties make an amazing model. I use a Packhorse, made by Ocean hunter, here in NZ. In the North Island we have bronze whaler sharks taxing our catch and in the South Island. we have Hooker sea lions and the occasional seal taxing our catch...not mentioning Great Whites further south. I also use inflatable floats - a 22l and a 35l for the tropics.
