I'm too young to have used an IMSAI 8080 or any of the very first personal computers (I'm in my 40's, so basically a baby, lol), but I've always been fascinated by IMSAI 8080 since I saw it in "Wargames". It is just... cool.

Your chair? Man, I had that exact office chair (except it had green leather upholstery) in my little workroom at my student job in the early 2000's! I found it in a disused storeroom and used it to replace a chair that was much newer, but that would sink slowly to the floor when sat upon. It was very squeaky by then (the school had probably procured it in the 70's), but it was quite comfy!

I did the same thing - prototype Wavetek Audio Response System prototype back in the early '70's. 5V 100A power supply, 300 7400 series IC's, and I connected the power supply backwards. Power supply must have crowbarred before the IC's failed, as it still worked afterwards.

Found your channel about a week ago. Been Bing - watching it ever since! LOL! Great stuff. Finished the IMSAI series. Now watching the TTL CPU series. You got me to break out an Imsai 8080 I bought back in the mid 80's, but never really got into it. Question: Has anyone ever developed an S100 card with ROM containing CP/M that you can boot from? Seems it would be possible. I had also purchased an 8" floppy drive at the time, but the system doesn't have a driver card.

Nice computer and one of front runners of personal computer revolution. Never saw it for real. Only saw it magazines, should I say old magazines from 80's on archive.org (BYTE and others). You say that you had fixed your IMSAI? Do you work in IT, Electronics or similar field?
