Arata Kaizaki (Taishi Nakagawa) is 27-years-old and unemployed. He quit his prior job after working for the company for 3 months. Arata Kaizaki decides to take part in a research program "ReLIFE." He takes medication that makes him look 10 years younger and he is to attend high school for a year. There, he falls in love with female high school student Chizuru Hishiro (Yuna Taira).

This live action version is true to the anime. A beautiful movie. It feels as if some of the scenes were shorter than they should be. Maybe a 2.5 hour movie was compressed down to 2 hours. Anyway, nicely done. Personally, I don't think I could stand reliving high school; once was more than enough! But it's valuable to relive the past in our memories and imagination, and glean what lessons we can. My greatest regret is that I did not keep a diary or journal at that time. Everyone should do so, and then people can "ReLIFE" their past any time they wish.
