My first car almost exactly. Same black interior, same cloth seat covers only the exterior was painted "Ermine White". Bought it used in 1972 with 49k miles on it. 283, Powerglide was all my dad would allow. It wasn't the hot rod I wanted but it was mine. No money for "wheels" so "Baby Moons" replaced the stock wheel covers. Bench seat kept my high school girlfriend close or allowed a couple of buddies to come along cruising. When a friend swapped Cragers for the "rally wheels" on his '69 Chevelle SS I replaced the "Baby Moons" with them and fitted Goodyear "Rally" tires. Drove it 130K miles before moving on. Fun to relive the engine/transmission action in this video. The two speed "Powerslide" (as we called it derisively) typically shifted between 30- 40mph but if you were on it it would wind out almost to 60. I drove the hell out of that car, jumping it on a back road "roller coaster" and, once on a long down hill straight" "buried the spedo" at an indicated 120! Now retired I and after a life of sports cars I still find myself thinking back often to my youth and that old Impala.

In 1977’ I bought my neighbor’s 67’ Caprice Classic. It was triple black with cragars and a red pinstripe. The interior had buckets /console. Damn would I love to have that car today. It was soooo nice. 283 so not super fast but after rebuilding the front end, new everything, shocks, upper/lowers, tie rods, stabilizer bar, new tires and a good alignment it drove like a brand new car. Perfect for a 17’ year old. I remember going to hangouts or dances and I’d meet a girl then when I’d offer to take her home they would see that car and just say, is this your car? Lol. It was that easy.

Absolutely gorgeous, and exactly what I paid for my '13 Impala LTZ in 2014! If someone thinks this is a lot, just compare this to a new Civic with no options, nice car and all, but this '67 Impala is in a different world and is probably more reliable to tell you the truth.

I've always loved the lines and the body style of the 67. Looks great at every angle!

OMG... My Mom had one when I was 5, it was blue with a 283 and a 3 on the tree. I'll never forget it. You could live in the back seat.

Just came across your website today and must say your videos are a brilliant way to increase interest . The type of cars you handle are generally for enthusiasts and collectors and they tend to search the net for their favorite cars . anyway, it’s fun to see these beautiful machines
if only from afar. 👍

Love the old cars! Easy to work on and built to last unlike these cars nowadays where a acorn falls out a tree and hits car and leaves dent

Nice one! Back when cars had style and great body lines. Sounds better after a little driving! I can fix that Holley Carburetor blind folded!! Thanks for the ride! Always enjoy your show!

Remember when you could swap out a motor in 2 hours. The good old days.

My grandfather had a 67 with the 327ci. 4bbl carburetor. What a beautiful beast of a car it was. He only drove it 50mph tops, so I would borrow it periodically to blow out the carbon. Beautiful car!

I fell in love with this car! Chevrolet Ipala in a coupe body is one of the most beautiful lines we could meet in the 60s in the United States.
