I love our language and of course it would be fun to have it in Icelandic. But Svala originally wrote it in English and it was always meant to be in English. But because of the rules of the national final that the songs have to be in Icelandic she got Stefán Hilmarsson (Icelandic singer/ESC 1991) to write the Icelandic lyrics.
She has explained that the song is about dealing with difficulties and struggles in life whatever they may be. She has been very open about her battle with anxiety and it's about the relationship she has with herself, not a romantic one. Everyone interprets music differently though, that's the beauty of it.
