Summary:

Chise Hatori is a 15-year-old girl, orphan who in her life has suffered rejection and desolation, due to her unconscious ability to see inhuman creatures. This causes her to end up an orphan, ignored by her relatives and on the verge of suicide when she meets a curious merchant, who proposes to sell herself into a slave to someone who loves her. Longing for a place to belong, she agrees, and it is at the auction that she meets the ancient wizard who will change her life, Elias Ainsworth. He buys her and makes her his apprentice while promising to one day make her his wife.
