I have a friend somewhere in the world - Once they were my lover, but they moved away for 5 years back to Toronto, and then when they came back we were just in different places, so we were no longer intimate but our friendship was still very intimate. Very strong mental and emotional connection - I felt I could be more myself around them and that the me I truly am would be properly recieved and respected, and as a result that self was inherently more capable of empathy and respect than around other people.

This friend is also one of the only people who I can ever say has expanded my taste in music - As a musician myself, I've always had the typical contentious view of 'pop music', but they opened me up to the idea that pop music is not inherently lacking in class or art through songs like this. I will always think of them when I listen to this, and I miss them dearly (as they have moved BACK to that city)
