Karnataka election 2023: In today's episode of News Hour Agenda, anchor Padmja Joshi will be discussing the Congress' claim to Rahul Gandhi as the new Prime Minister of India in the year 2024. Today, the Congress won Karnataka's assembly election, while the BJP won the municipal election in Uttar Pradesh. It's a historic mandate for the Congress Party, which has won over 136 seats in the 224-member assembly. A comfortable majority of the party sealed the deal in the southern state. It means that the BJP has lost its southern stronghold. In Uttar Pradesh's municipal election, the BJP won 98 seats, while the Congress got only 48 seats.

We are joined by a few panellists. Maharashtra MLA Prithiviraj Chavan said: "One takeaway from this election would be that you must let the election be contested by local leaders and you must have a hyper-local campaign. Focus on the people's issues." Watch In

Definitely something to learn from for BJP. Karnataka BJP leadership is truly bad, on par with the Congress leadership there, so they have to offer something better to avoid anti-incumbency.

Message for BJP. Pls groom your chief ministers. They are good for nothing except Up and Assam. At first place they are not good communicator. They don’t know how to convince the people. Karnataka defeat has broken our heart . Pls God sake do something.

the main reasons: going soft on hindutva-gyanvapi mathura, nupur sharma, west bengal post poll violence on hindus, bjp workers, ram navami issue.
not making rules to work on caa, ucc, nrc trying to be more and more close to muslims who will never vote for bjp.
too much dependence on Modi- Shah.
very poor leadership-governance in karnataka, not sure about rajasthan and madhaya pradesh.
replace j.p. nadda as bjp president.

focus on hindus only

It was a complete anti incumbency by BJP cadres against the local candidates, BJP hasn't lost its vote share even though there was more voter turnout this time than previous time. that means BJP has gained votes even though in many places BJP cadres cross voted congress and JDS candidates. in my constitution alone, 30k bjp cadres voted for congress and RPI candidates. TO clearly say, BJP voters have not dimnished and have not lost hope they just wanted to show the mirror to the local candidates. who were stubborn and cowardice and incompetence to prove themselves even though provided with an opportunity.

We need strong leadership like Hemanta and Yogi. Hopefully Modi can develop someone like Annamalai in Karnataka. I think Tejasvi Surya can become a great leader who does not have a corrupt background and work for development of Karnataka

Media should accept the results and stop speculating . leave the performance appraisal to the respective parties in relation to how when & what .

BJP is well known for scoring self goals. They did it 2004 and now in 2023 in Nataka.BJP hit itself on its foot by trying to divide the Hindu caste and trying to woo the ungrateful peacefuls, inspite of knowing not a single vote will be cast in its favor.
Unless the BJP secures its core vote bank, which is Hindus with development and make the Hindu community a strong economic and political force, the BJP will face the Hindu anger.

AlHamdulillah! Nearly 85% of Muslims vote great contribution for Congress in Karnataka! Nearly 10% Muslims not in Voter list. So, CM must given to Muslim MLA because Muslims votes is greater contribution for Congress gains. Muslims are Back Bone for Congress victory historically!
