Holy Sh-t, this man is a mad genius who is fearless. Is he also one of the most honest politician as well? Dollarization have been done with great success in countries like Panama and Cambodia. Why can't we get straight talking politicians like this guy in the USA?

Just so you know, uh...the dollar relies on a central bank as well, so you're not escaping a "central bank" system if you switch to the dollar.

That being said, if your central bank is more corrupt than ours, than by all means switch.

Im argentinian and i live here. Most of us want to end the current political system, and this was shown in the PASO elections. At the moment, the economic decisions of this country are destroying and disrupting the pockets of the lower and middle class, and it is well known (for those of us who realize it) that corruption has been present in our last governments. We expect Javier Millei to win the October elections and everything indicates that it will be so. The Argentine peso must die, its value does nothing but decline, and I believe that the dollarization plan is the best alternative to reduce cost speculation and bring order to our economy.

Nothing wrong with anchoring to the USD, it will help Argentina if they can get their corruption at the political level under control. Now USA, if your government is allowed to continue to get more corrupt, then Argentina using the USD won't matter, at the same would occur if USA falls.

Dollarization is just another Word for devaluation of the Argentine peso, and they tried dual currencies before, results were the thieving politicians stole all the dollar-denominated accounts, and anything else they could get their hands on in the Banks. Right now the exchange rate is 349.95 pesos to one US dollar, and that’s the official rate, what can you get walking the streets?

I like Milei, however, I hope he knows how to manage the dollarization. It is a very dangerous thing. I hope he is selling the dolarization plan idea just to get votes, but not to really put it in practice. I also hope that he will continue doing businessess with China which is the richest economy in the world and our first buyer. Anyway, unfortunately, we don't have any other option. I pray for us and the country. We are in a very difficult situation and Milei may not be able to do much.
