My wife and I visited the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam last spring (2022). It is a fabulous collection of the master's works, and is conveniently located by the Rijksmuseum. I just wish I'd spent more time studying the textures brush strokes, use of colors, etc. Guess I'll have to go back 😎

This wonderful! I love your philosophy so waffle away Clive! I really enjoy watching you paint. Very few artists on YouTube provide philosophical commentary about painting, approaching a white canvas, going thru the ugly stage. I say when you’re at the ugly stage keep going or you’ll get stuck with an ugly painting.

Superb job. Clive, love listening to you chat away, reminds me of home. Have no fear, you certainly never come across as egotistical, just the bloke nextdoor helping you fix something and having a beer afterwards.
I'm trying to do watercolours in a hot climate but love watching your videos. Thanks for sharing Clive.

CLIVE’S GREATEST PAINT ACCESSORY IS HIS FLOW AIDE!! I CAN’T PAINT WITHOUT IT!! SO FANTASTIC!! WAY BETTER THAN MATTE MEDIUM. YOU HAVE TO TRY IT- YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED!! I BOUGHT 2 BOTTLES, SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN 6. I’M IN THE USA- SO WORTH THE SHIPPING COST. SERIOUSLY CLIVE’S FLOW AIDE IS MAGIC!!

This is marvelous, not just you painting but the serenity you convey and your discussion. So relaxing. I’m looking forward to getting to paint this. And the VG history you gave tremendous. I never thought of how long VG would’ve had to sit out in the dark to make all of those brush strokes. Thank you for explaining about the water drying out not the paint. It makes so much sense. I use your media your flow assister and Liquitex matte medium. I’ve almost quit using water. Are you using your VG paint colors? I have them from you in red and yellow. Still need the blues. You you are a great instructor Clive. I love your channel. Thank you much!

No black, that's the secret, van gogh got influenced by impressionism, any far away stuff is bluish/grey. He's work is oil based and he painted over the clock, thats way he painted thick.
Great video, very good artwork, well done
