Universal Pictures (1998) [4K HDR]

This video was uploaded as a HDR (High Dynamic Range) video. As a result, those viewing this video on a SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) display may experience issues with color accuracy or brightness (i.e. darker than expected). This depends on how good (or bad) YouTube tonemaps the HDR video to SDR.

What's odd about this is that the older HD releases of this film use the 2005 version of this Universal logo. As you can see, this is clearly an older version of the logo, being used on a newer print. It's like they wanted to make the logo fit in better with the time period, although I would've preferred if the Polygram logo was left intact. This also features the same edit that "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" got on UHD Blu-ray (i.e. the copyright removal). I don't know why the logo zooms out as the logo fades out.

I wonder if the zoom-out is an editing error, or maybe it was copied from another film where that zoom-out was part of the intro. I couldn't find any opening like that though.

You've be better off with the PolyGram Video release if you want to see the 1997 Icarus logo. Typical Universal with their logo plastering! On the other hand, having this film on Blu-ray and even 4K is worth it! Cause it's a "Coen Brothers" classic!

If they were to show Universal movies from the 2000s with this logo in 4K Ultra HD, I would be surprised to see what the old school Universal would look like in Ultra HD
