The sap run is on here in New Hampshire! I was driving home the other day and I saw that a few sap collection barrels I had been watching were beginning to fill up.

That meant it was time to get in the woods and tap our trees! We have a small operation, and make just enough maple syrup for us to use over the course of the year, as well as some to share. It's easy to do! Look for more maple videos as the season goes on over the next few weeks!

Good luck! I skipped this year, personally. It's been +/- freezing temps so much all winter I was guessing this will be a bad maple season. I didn't figure the roots are adequately frozen. Can't wait to see how it goes!
Also: Valentines Day is tapping Day in Southern NH. Much like Memorial Day is planting day :)

I love seeing your set up. We've not tapped anything here at our farm yet (I'm not sure we really have enough trees to make it worth it...) but we have helped friends with a huge line. Nice to see how you do things. Also, DARN SQUIRRELS!

We love this time of year too. Can’t wait to start boiling. We have a lot more snow than you guys we had to wear snowshoes yesterday when we were tapping ❄️

I don’t know what it is but I get that. It’s almost like someone took a set of side cutters and tried to cut through the line. I don’t know if a deer tries to chew on it or what but once a year I have at least one of the lines cut in half with that. I came over from Homestead With the Hearts have a good one man.
