Was expecting a compilation of my best rounds

I was playing on my local course the other night and I was going up the 18th, on track for a solid sub 80 round. 148 yards left, ball slightly below my feet, it was just a smooth 8 iron from the right edge of the fairway. I then proceeded to stone cold shank it into the club house car park . Which was bad (and rare, my bad shot is normally a thin). However, upon further investigation, I saw that my ball had actually smashed a car windscreen. And, not just any windscreen. No, the windscreen of a brand new Audi A7. Therefore, on balance, I'd say that was probably the worst shot of the year, so far.

"What a sad end to what looked like what was going to be a wonderful day."
Story of golf (and most of my life) right there in one sentence.

6:12 is easily my favorite. I finally was able to forgive myself for all of my bladed wedges.

DP World Tour Golfer: I need to be careful to get up and down for par with my next shot.
Golf ball/club: I'm about to ruin this guy's whole day.

It's so nice to see that world class pros hook, top, shank, chunk, have phases of total putting dyslexia and (my personal favorite) epically slice.
So they ARE human!

I haven't played much golf over the last year, but thought I'll have a go round the 9 hole chip and putt in Ambleside as I had half an hour to kill. Probably the longest hole is 80 yards, and the greens are just slightly cut grass so not too bothered. What was difficult was that the tees were plastic matts with small hexagonal holes in, sunk into the ground to protect the ground from the general foot traffic. This meant that I was basically trying to play the ball of a hard plastic tight lie for every tee shot. Added to this, I was given a 64degree lob wedge as the iron club. The warning signs were there when on the third, I thinned a gentle lob wedge 90 yards on a 50 yard hole. Then on hole 8, an 80 yarder, thin number 2. The ball managed two bounces on the A593, running by the side of the park and disappeared in the bushes of the Rothay Garth B and B, amazingly missing any car. Too embarrassed to tell the guys in the kiosk and returned the clubs minus golf ball.

This looks all to familiar to me. I think I have duplicated every shot shown here. This has been good therapy for me to see-knowing the best do just as badly as I do (at least rarely).

i've got all those shots in my bag. I'd say all these shots are because the players got scared and weren't committed to the shot they were trying to hit.

All these shots combined would constitute a fairly typical day on the course for me 😁

Still my favorite video to watch after my own round.

Thanks for making me, a 20 handicapper, feel a bit better.

I'm great at slicing fruits and vegetables because it comes so naturally to me on the golf course -- straight shots are rare for me, and i never hook, so when i make great contact and my drive would go 250 straight... it goes about 175 straight and then makes its inevitable arc to the right, and into the rough, or woods, or another fairway, or someone's yard. Whatever is 25-75 yards right of the fairway i am trying to hit.

I also have my share of daisy-cutters -- at least those usually go straight, if only 50 feet.

I love playing golf. And when i keep my head down and don't rush the swing and don't try to murder the ball (my trifecta), I can put it in the air on a more or jess straight path. I don't hit my 6 200 yards like pros do, but i can hit it 150 in whatever direction (straight or right... never ever left)x

Putting... yeah, i'll hit a 15-footer and on the next hole, 3-putt from 8 feet. It is what it is.

The *only* thing i have never done is chop my ball over a green. Or put my ball inyo a bunker (like Bubba did at the Masters maybe five years ago. Two-time masters champ putting it into a bunker. love the guy even more for that.

I'll never wear the green jacket, lift the claret or the wanamaker or the hardest trophy, the US Open -- christ, i'd shoot about 130 at Merion, and lose 14 balls -- but i also won't chip over a green or putt into a bunker. I add loft to my chips -- open my front foot and back it off, and swing to put the blade under the ball. But i don't try to crush it -- it's an attempt at gentle arc flight.

So i don't bump and run. but my hall, when chipped from close, at least lands on the green and stops. Then i three-putt from 13 feet. hehe

They hit bad shots sometimes, we hit good shots sometimes. That's kinda why they're there and we're here. Lol.

Golf is such as elusive game, no matter how good you treat it, when it goes bad, it goes bad.

05:25 At least there's a place close enough to figure out what killed his chances at winning, although I don't think they'll be needed

A summary of every round I play. They're only human. They just screw up far less. They'd still beat you with one club.
