MAS Effects: Sona High Gain Fuzz

The MAS Effects Sona is a high gain fuzz loaded with 2 distinct personas that allow for a wider range of tones. With 4 silicon transistors at the heart, Sona is capable of singing sustain and chunky fuzz that can be shaped at the input stage with the Body toggle switch. Switch upwards for a rounder sound with more lows, while down tightens up the distortion with a thinner signal which allows pickup types of any kind to cut through a high gain setting.
The Tone control is a blend between Low and High pass filtering at the output stage. This puts the finishing touch on the sound and helps match the Sona to bright or dark amps. Inside you’ll find a helpful Bias control to add a bit more sag and gated qualities to the fuzztone while the max gain helps narrow your favorite fuzz range and reduces noise when dialed back a bit.

Two years late, but I must thank you for the Thorough test of the Sona. I read the article/review in a predominant US guitar mag, and you covered all the questions I had about the pedal aurally. I take it that they they not have the “ momentary switch“ on the unit you demoed ? (The article was written in 2022… I only read it and saw your demo 12/2023)….🤷🏼‍♂️🥸
