Sergei Polunin // the things I cannot say

Показать описание
Montage with ballet dancer Sergei Polunin (Сергей Полунин). Set to Alison Sparrow's violin and piano cover for "Creep" by Radiohead. A reflection on my first six months as a fan and some life changing things that happened to me during that time - some wonderful, some challenging, and some especially painful.
(When I chose this song I was only familiar with the "America's Got Talent" cover version by Brian Justin Crumb, so those are the lyrics I had in mind as I made this. But this video is meant to make sense without a knowledge of the lyrics, so I'll leave it up to the viewer to decide whether or not to look them up.)
The mix of classical and contemporary ballet dance clips and interviews represents some of the dances, videos, and articles that made an impression on me those first few months as a fan and, as I pieced together all these scattered details of Sergei's career, gave me a sense of who Sergei Polunin is as dancer and as a person.
While only two or three other people in the world will know what this video means to me, I know many times people bring their own meaning into these montages I make, so I am sharing in hopes that, if nothing else, a few other people may enjoy watching this beautiful man dance.
**
With many thanks to @PamBoehmeSimon and her video "27 Times Sergei Polunin Made Me Say Wow", which introduced me to this world of Sergei's dance.
