I used to dispatch ride in London in the 80s. I worked with a guy from Canada called Jim who used a Thunderbolt for work. Once a year the engine was sent to some guys in Wales for a full rebuild. He used it year in year out and last time I saw him was probably early 90s. You could not, could not stay with him in heavy traffic. The bike was a beast and he was no spring chicken himself !

I just bought three old Triumphs last month, a 62 and 66 T100's and a 72 750 Tiger. Got my winter workshop planned for the next few months. That's a gorgeous BSA, wish you were here in the States with it. That price sounds quite reasonable for an old beautiful twin. I had a 64 bonnie 650 and sold it in the 80's, when my parents moved, really regret selling it.

Looks like a real bargain, I have an A50 (500cc version) which was also a USA import, a complete wreck when I bought it!
Only thing to look out for on these is the timing side bush.
Modern paint Vs modern fuel, modern fuel wins every time!

in 1970 I had a 1964 650 T-Bolt. With 4 other riders I stayed out the entire summer cruising and living in a tent. The only time it had me down was when I let the battery run dry! My bad

Is it still legal to ride the 60s BSA in England? Every town and city seems to have fines in place for riding older bikes.
