TRS Tips: Morimoto Elite HID System

2012 Range Rover Evoque: TRS Matt Demo the 9005 Morimoto Elite HID System as it's installed on this new Range Rover Evoque.

We used the Morimoto 3Five.SS slim ballasts, Morimoto 3Five 9005 5000K bulbs, and the Morimoto Standalone Canbus harnesses to cancel the "bulb out" error on the dash

This install is unique since the ballasts, bulbs, and wiring all fit into the shell of the headlight - which isn't very typical. Most of the time, a 7/8" will have to be drilled in the housing cap that seals the back of the headlight so that the pass-through wires/seal can come through the housing and power the ballasts/wiring externally.

Bought the new style kit for a 2016 Optima with 9005 bulbs, the pig tail for the bulb was larger than 7/8" now it doesn't seal properly and the lights won't fire up. Everything connected properly as the pictures show. Tried every possible polarity still no luck. Wtf

I'm also wondering about the overheating risk with it inside of the headlamp housing. I have a 2015 Sonata and I did read about some people going that route with the TRS HIDs. Under normal operation it seems like it doesn't get that hot, but if there's a failure or bad connection, I figure things can overheat putting your whole housing at risk.

Hi TRS, is it better to clean the H.I.D bulb with those 70% Isopropyl Alcohol Wipes / Pad ( as per hospital grade ) ?

Stupid question but how do you know what to choose as far as stand alone can-bus or the second option with the relay? I have a 08 Audi A3 halogen bulbs! But I've heard crazy stories of his kits shortening out components. Any advise would be appreciated it! Thanks in advance.

Finally got standalone can bus hook up but problem here, ,,well I plugged everything up as it should have been and initially the first headlight lit up, but then went I plugged back the stock bulb was still working fine.please help !!

Hi, my car is 2011 Hyundai IX35 has a bulb for high beam and one for low beam bulb individually uses H7 bulbs. Let me know if I can install on my lights hid xenon system of morimoto without having to drill holes behind my lights, similar to this video where everything is placed inside the lights

Do the lights get affected when there is no light projector? Does it matter if there is a projector or not?

Hey I have a Morimoto Elite HID kit but I went the HD Relay route. I noticed that both bulbs come with the option to connect the CANBUS harness to it but is only one cable needed for the anti-flicker capacitor and the spare just needs to be cut off like you did in the video?
