Correcting myself. GTO 6.0 does 0-60 in about 4.6 seconds, not 4.3. It is heavily outclassed by Model S in this case.

0-60 3.9s for the tesla 3.9s for the 2011 CTS-V as far as I knew, although it could be a fraction of a second quicker. I don't know any stats for the 2014 model.

I still think that a 0-60 time of 3.9s for a sedan that seats 7 is pretty incredible even before you consider that it's electric.

Recharging isn't free, you also have to take into account the price premium of the electric car. Those money can be spend on fuel instead.

Much does a tesla cost. U can buy a gas car and never spend that much in gas in its lifetime. Gas is still cheaper in the long run.

You can buy a battery replacement option when buying a new car for 12000$. For that money you can change the battery after 8 years of use.

Yes, but my point is: More of this kind of car will come, Model S is just the beginning. Some day we should see EV cars with 4 motors providing precision torque vectoring, super car acceleration, 500+ miles range, 100MPGe efficiency and at price points everyone can afford. This mostly is about improving the battery technology.

I don't own either of these cars but I would just like to say that its interesting a 70, 000$+ car beats a car you can get for around 20, 000$. I would not have guessed that...

The real number is the passing figure. 1.7 for tesla 40-60, 2.9 for GTO. That is the difference. What you saw was one car going 40, the other 50. Perfectly reasonable for a second or more difference.

The tesla is the fastest sedan built in america today. Perhaps you could suggest something because if you don't think it's fast, you may as well be saying that every car built in the US is slow.
Personally I think that 0-60 in 3.9s is pretty damn quick, but heck, what do I know.

I'm with you. But don't you think people had to sacrifice something when they went from riding a horse to driving a Ford T ages ago? Some people still love riding horses and I'm sure gas cars wont go away for very long even for those having it as a hobby.
A bit like some people still love playing old records.
