180 million BC- some piece of land separates from Australia and South America which becomes Antarctica and a few animals are living in new tropical land

145 million BC to 60 million BC-
Dinosaurs started living in Antarctica but they got extinct at the end of this timeline

34m BC to 24m BC - A dramatic shift in climate makes Antarctica the icy place it is so animals are just chilling in the cold now

24m BC to 115000 BC- all five ice ages happen which makes earth a giant snowball

10, 000 BC or more - wooly mammoths might've lived there but they got extinct in this time anyway

1773- Captain James Cook navigates and crosses the antarctic circle, and becomes the first recorded human to do that

1820- Antarctica gets sighted by humans for the first time

1911- roald Amundsens reaches the south pole and becomes the first person to do that

1959 to present - countries claim parts of Antarctica, even though they don't technically own it

1998 to present - it is globally agreed that nobody can mine Antarctica anymore since it's banned

2023- Mr Beast tries to survive 50 hours in Antarctica
