While most people know how to select text using the mouse, not everyone knows about the handy keyboard keys that can make moving around a document or selecting large amounts of text easier. The keys shown here work in any application, and come in handy all the time, from writing a document to simply browsing the web.

In this video, I cover using the following keyboard keys:

Movement:
Left/Right/Up/Down arrows
Ctrl + Left/Right - Move to next word
Home - Beginning of line
End - End of line
Ctrl + Home/End - Move to start/end of page
PgUp/PgDn - Move up/down one page

Selection:
Movement + Shift
Ctrl + A - Select all text

control f is very useful can be used to jump to any spot within a page without needing to click tab a ton of times. and the keyboard short cut go back a page, and switch between tabs, i used this combo to rapidly copy past text from webpage into a google doc on the next tab without using a mouse. when compiling legal codes list from the govt webpage onto a google doc it made everything faster and easier. once get the flow and rhythm of it i was glad i started doing it that way.
