Horta is usually made with wild greens by the same name, however, you can enjoy this Greek recipe with all kinds of leafy greens from dandelion to chard, to kale! It’s very versatile, quick, and delicious. This side dish is amazing with steamed potatoes or fresh bread, it’s also excellent with Mediterranean-style bean dishes. 😋 This recipe is vegan and gluten-free.

Horta is made with Dandelion greens, but other wild greens can be added like swiss chard. I haven't seen it made with kale, but I will try it. Thank you for the recipe.

Hi ! New subscriber here and wild forager in the Abruzzo region of Italy. I regularly have boat loads of chicory, dandelion, curly dock, perpetual spinach, Ford hook chard, horseradish, wild lettuce, borage, burdock and amaranth. Thank you for your recipes 🙂

What sea salt do you like? Also, could you use a steam basket so the greens are not in the water?
