Don / KM6INR gave a great presentation on his new off grid solar panel battery backup system. This system charges the batteries with solar panels and runs electrical loads in the house. In the event he loses power the battery backup system will automatic switch over and run his critical circuits in his house.

The Inverter:

Thanks for this presentation. I am planning on doing something similar. I live in Texas in the country on a couple of acres. I am just beginning on Ham radio and am going to test for tech & general soon. I don’t plan on selling power to the utility. I have heard they buy power from the consumer at wholesale rates and sell back at retail rates. Trouble is I am running out of time to install for the tax credit this year.
